Comment by Screen Sifar January 16, 2008 @ 1:26 amIt is’nt democracy that rules in Gujarat. We all know that from the Tehelka Expose.
Yes, its truly sad and grave that people still voted for him, especially after knowing that he carried out the pogroms of 2002.This means that Gujarat is a state where the idea of India has faltered and failed.
I have just discovered this very interesting site, linked from Flickr photostream…will explore further when time permits. I have a great interest and clothing and identity, am currently working on a (scholarly rather than practical) project–have been to India and to Gujarat— many photos of mine viewable on galleries from my blog — thelocalisglobal.blogspot.com — I also have some on the Flickr photostream. Notice, please, the great significance of Indian dress to NRI identity; this is a social and cultural issue that I am trying to untangle (pun intended). Some posts on my blog relate to this work.
